The multiple disciplines that Friedman pulls from have given him insight into leadership that is revolutionary. A major take away is that leaders who always try to build consensus are not leading as well as they could be because the anxiety in our culture pulls people towards safety and security and leaders often need to get people to move out of safety into something risky but better in the long run.
